Wow.

Now, I’m not even gonna get started on the whole “being nice” angle that CFG is going at – y’know, being rather Randian in my beliefs and all. But this story just boggles the mind:

The 78-year-old said he was walking into a Winn-Dixie to get some groceries when he was approached by a woman who said she needed a ride.

“She asked me, ‘Do I do a service?'” O’Neil said. “I told her no. She said, ‘I need help getting home.'”O’Neil told the woman if she was still there when he finished his shopping, he would give her a ride. She was, so he did.As it turned out, the woman was an undercover employee with the consumer services department targeting people providing illegal taxi services.

Milton Friedman probably already said everything there is to say about the whole issue of needing a license for a certain job but why the hell would you need one to be a taxi driver? Yeah, there’s the issue that you might get cheated by some dude and him being known would make it easier to catch him. Because you can’t fake any of this. Right.

Stupid, really stupid.
